“Antarctica will be a life changing experience” was something I frequently heard or read in the lead up to my trip. I’m not quite sure it was life changing, but it was certainly an adventure.
The lack of access keeps Antarctica very special and while I know on a conscious level that there are some trips which allow you to fly in and out, rather than rocking and rolling across the sparkling sapphire waters of the Drake, for me this part of the journey is like a rite of passage.
The entire trip was filled with so many highlights, it just became more and more spectacular each and every day.
A fellow traveller kept asking if I was angry; angry at the sheer beauty of this special piece of the world – not angry just humbled.
