Great Dim Sum in Mongkok.

Great Dim Sum in Mongkok.

Dim Sum is a must do when visiting Hong Kong.

However the challenge for travelers is knowing where to go to get a taste of some consistently great food.

This place in Mongkok doesn’t have an English name and isn’t big, but it does have fantastic food.

Specialty dishes include:

  • Steamed glutinous rice and chicken
  • Baked bun with barbecued pork
  • Vermicelli roll stuffed with shrimp
  • Steamed ginger cake

A quick glance around the restaurant proved that these specialty dishes were incredibly popular and that we had been given some excellent guidance.    The pastry used for the vermicelli roll and shrimp dumplings was also delicately translucent which is often taken as a sign of good dim sum.

Fantastic food at an amazing price – US$12 for 6 dishes, which was more than enough as lunch for two people.   Apart from being very small the only draw back for this place is its popularity.   There was a line-up when we arrived and when we left, however definitely worth the wait.

添好運點心專門店 is open from 10am to 10pm and is located at Shop 8, Ground Floor, Tsui Yuen Mansion, 2-20 Kwong Wa Street, Mongkok.
